This weekend, take some time to nourish yourself on all levels: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Mental nourishment: To calm your mind, when you first wake up in the morning, spend a few moments setting your intentions for the day. Then, throughout the day, take a few minutes here and there to close your eyes and tune in again to your intentions for the day. At bedtime, quietly reflect on the day. Celebrate any small joys, and release any disappointments. Visualize your mind being filled with a calm, healing light that is nourishing every cell in your brain.
Physical nourishment: Did you know that your body is talking to you all the time? When you tune in to the body channel, you will hear it telling you what it needs. Perhaps it needs a little extra rest. Or maybe it needs a little extra pure water or a lot more dark green leafy vegetables. Visualize all of your 37.2 trillion cells being filled with warm healing energies.
Emotional nourishment: Take some time to reflect on how you process your feelings. Do you tend to brush them off and keep busy, or do you tend to over-indulge in them? In order to achieve healthy tendencies with the emotional realm, develop the habit of becoming the observer. As you watch any and all emotions flowing through you, practice allowing them to be just as they are, without trying to change them. And, at the same time, set the intentions that you are healing and that you are loving yourself no matter how you feel. Cultivate self-love, and visualize that love flowing out to all beings.
Spiritual nourishment: Perhaps you’ve read some of my past blogs with spiritual tips, such as “StarFire Teja’s Three Super Simple Spiritual Practices” in which I’ve shared fun ways to connect with your spiritual self. I am all about making spiritual practices do-able for people, because when you do spiritual practices you directly experience, in your body, what it feels like to know that you are Held By Something Greater. Visualize your entire being connected with every star in the sky, and imagine that the whole universe is vibrating and shining inside your heart. Allow that bright light to spread throughout your whole being, and then see it radiating out to all beings.
