Create and Live Your Unique Biography

Have you ever written a biography for yourself? It is such an interesting exercise!

It is so beautiful to be unique… to be yourself fully… to stand out in a crowd…

At the end of her book On Death and Dying, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, M.D., writes that most of us “create and live a unique biography and weave ourselves into the fabric of human history.”

I recently wrote a biography, and I will share mine here below to give you a guide for writing your own. The goal in this exercise is not to write a book, but rather to keep your biography to about one-half to two-thirds of a page.

I think it is fun and interesting to read other people’s biographies, so after you write your biography, feel free to share it down below in the comments where it says “Leave a Reply,” or send it to me through the Contact tab up in the right corner of this blog.

I hope you enjoy creating and living your unique biography!

Biography of Teja Shankara, author of The Tejaswini Ramayana: The Way of Rama in the Shakahara StarFire Universes

Teja Shankara is a blogger, author, and spiritual helper who leads interfaith healing circles and cares for the dying and their families. With a smile that lights up the room, she shines with the radiance of one who does daily spiritual practices.

During her last semester as a Political Science major at Butler University, she found her true passion in an Anthropology class called “Religion and Ritual Around the World.” Religious studies captured her heart and mind, as she had loved all things spiritual since she was a young girl mesmerized by the colorful stained glass windows and heady incense of her Indiana family’s Catholic church.

After graduating cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish (1992), she worked at universities in international programs, and continued to study religions, including Judaism, Native American, and others. Then, during many years of being an at-home mom in Oregon, she trained as a labor doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, postpartum doula, energy healer, caregiver, meditation instructor, medical assistant, hypnotherapist, and facilitator of prison groups. During those years she discovered the Raja Yoga Path of Hinduism and began leading healing circles in which she shares do-able spiritual practices with people of all religions and other cosmic belief systems.

Sister Teja, a self-proclaimed nun forging her own Shakahara StarFire Tribe, is on fire with a mission to help elevate the human species to the Highest Love Vibrations. As “StarFire Teja” she feels most passionate about writing blog articles that really help people to Happy Up their lives.

She Happys Up her own life through daily spiritual practices, including chanting (sacred singing), meditating, studying the Ramayana, cultivating Gratitude, and visualizing with guided imagery techniques. She is a Mama of two bright amazing young men, and a barefoot nature lover who loves the Sun, orange marigolds, sunflowers, red roses, trees, birds, stars, red rocks, hot black coffee (organic, fair trade, dark roast!), pinecones, and amethyst crystals.

At age 49, Sister Teja has returned to her Indiana roots, where she enjoys high vibration plant-based living with her parents. She writes daily in her tree-house temple overlooking a green yard filled with birds, squirrels, and wild brown rabbits. For more information, please visit starfireteja.wordpress.com.
