StarFire Teja’s StarFire Friday Blessing: May You Feel Passion

Dear reader,

What do you feel passionate about? Do you have clear convictions and visions? What is on your mind the most lately? And what do you most deeply want?

When I was in high school, I loved reading the news for my current events class. I felt very intrigued about everything that was happening in the world. So when it came time to go to college, I chose the Political Science major. At the time it seemed like a good fit for me, because I certainly had some fire in my blood, which I had inherited from my paternal grandfather, who was very political. He worked for a labor union and he was very passionate about the Democratic party in the state of Indiana. He and I enjoyed discussing politics, and one semester I even worked as an intern in his office, coordinating a get-out-the-vote drive.

I felt a lot of passion during elections just like my Grandpa, and I really thought that politics was my life path… But, political science majors were required to regularly read several different newspapers, and during my junior year, when the Gulf War was happening, I found myself crying every morning while reading the news. It was just so heartbreaking to read about all the bloodshed and all the mothers losing their sons. I became very upset about all the violence and corruption. So, even though I was required to read the news, I began taking breaks from it. (That was one of the early clues that I am an HSP, a Highly Sensitive Person!)

The following year, during my last semester at Butler University, I found my true passion in an Anthropology class called “Religion & Ritual Around the World.” I have been studying religion and spirituality ever since, and over the past 27 years since college, I have discovered that the fire in my blood is not for the political arena (sorry, Grandpa!), but rather it is for a mission to help elevate the human species to happier and healthier vibrations.

With each person who becomes happier and healthier, their happier and healthier vibrations radiate out and help the collective consciousness to be happier and healthier. So, I believe that my role in working to end all the senseless wars is through helping people to happy up and to heal themselves.

This weekend I will continue waiting patiently for the proof copy of my new book to arrive… Once I approve it, the book will be available for you to order. It is my deepest prayer that Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life will be helpful to many people. This book was born out of the fire in my blood to help elevate people, so we can all enjoy more happiness and peace in the world.
