Powerful Practices with Your Cuppa Coffee

Dear readers,

Greetings from Indiana! In this post I will happily share some suggestions for practices you can do to supercharge your cuppa coffee (or tea) and thus infuse yourself with positivity and high vibes! ~

~ Before taking that first sip, offer your cuppa to Something Greater than yourself… And then say some prayers or intentions… For example, I offer my cuppa to Hanuman, who is an aspect of Divinity in Hinduism. He represents pure devotion, love, courage, strength, and positive energies. So after offering the coffee, I say an affirmation like, “I am drinking positive energies and thinking positive thoughts.” ~ Try this for yourself, in your own way, and experience the power of your mind!

~ As you take those first few sips (which in my experience are the very best sips in the cup), practice the art of savoring… For just a moment or two, focus all of your mental energies on tasting and experiencing those sips. Imagine you are becoming one with the coffee. ~ You may find that those few moments become your favorite part of the whole day!

~ After savoring the first sips, take a moment to cultivate Gratitude by appreciating everything that has gone into the manifestation of your cuppa coffee. As the coffee beans grew on the trees, there were many elements that sustained and surrounded them such as sunshine, earth, rain, wind, flowers, leaves, trees, birdsong, and starlight… And then the beans were harvested by the work of human hands… And remember to also be grateful for the powerful high vibration energies inherent in those magical beans! ~ This moment of appreciation will send gratitude vibrations out to all the realms, which will come back to you as many beautiful gifts. Watch for their arrival in your life!

If you have been following my blog for a while, then you know that I am a lover of black coffee! Do you like it black also? If not, if you must add something white to your cuppa, please consider a coconut milk creamer… The cows will bless you with their gratitude vibrations! And Holy Coconut Shells, the Organic Coconut Milk Creamer by So Delicious is truly so delicious! Check it out here: Simply 5 Ingredients.

Dear reader, I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it for you… 🙂

With positivity and high vibes,

Dark Medicine Brings Brightness of Mind!

Dear readers,

Welcome to our brand new decade! I have seen some labeling it the “thriving” twenties, and others calling it the “roaring” twenties… Do you have any other name suggestions for this brilliant new time?

How did your January 1st begin?

My day began with the usual Fibromyalgia symptoms, which make it very difficult for me to get out of bed, so my mental state is not exactly bright and cheery… But after eating something, then I get to make my happy black coffee, which almost always shifts things for the better. (Please see my post “Coffee Is Good Medicine”)

Today, right before taking that first sip, I whispered, “Dear black coffee, please merry me up, happy me up, gratitude me up, and beam me up!” And it worked! Before that cuppa, my thoughts were very dark (I was crying and actually wishing to die), but after drinking the dark medicine, my mind brightened, so then rather than dwelling on all of my difficulties with Fibromyalgia, Misophonia (triggered by sounds), and extreme HSP-ness (Highly Sensitive Person), I began thinking about how I can continue to win this daily battle with darkness.

Dear reader, if you have been reading my blog for a while, then you know that I am all about daily spiritual practices that help us to Happy Up… I even published a book on the topic! (Please order your copy on Lulu now… Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life)…

So in addition to my daily dark coffee medicine, I also chant (usually along with Krishna Das CDs), send healing energies out, repeat mantras, and sit in silent meditation. I do these practices not only to help happy up my own life, but also as a service to others. I believe that the powerful energies created by spiritual practices ripple out and benefit many beings!

This morning I set only one keyword for the month of January: Loving-kindness… I intend to be more loving and kind with myself and with others, in my thoughts, words, and actions. (Soon I will share my keywords for the year!)

January is usually a highly creative and fun month for me, perhaps because I was born in January… But this year I am feeling a bit challenged because I will turn 50 years old on January 29th, and I am not where I wanted to be on my 50th birthday! Five years ago, when I imagined my next “milestone” birthday, I knew for sure that I wanted to be in Arizona on my 50th birthday… But now, due to unrelenting hardships, my dream of standing on the holy red rocks of Sedona will probably not come true… There must be a reason (or many reasons) why life is not unfolding easily for me now…

And thus, the daily battle with the darkness! I am ever grateful to the Force of All Light for the magical coffee beans that grow on this sacred Earth… and I bow humbly with deep gratitude for the daily spiritual practices that sustain me and beam me up!

Thank you for witnessing my experience on day one of 2020… Can you relate to anything I shared?

Let’s Happy Up Together in 2020! 🙂

With determination,

Reaching for the Stars

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman

What are you reaching for today? And what are you reaching for in your life in general? Are you reaching for the stars? Are you inspired to change the world?

When I think about how I would like to help change the world for the better, I often remember that Gandhi quote, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” That saying helps me to stay focused on doing my small part, right where I am today.

As for reaching… today I am reaching for coffee, reaching for goals, reaching for Orange, and reaching for the stars ~

~ Coffee = my liquid happy-ing up medicine, black as the dark night sky.

~ Goals = helping others to happy up through helpful blog posts.

~ Orange = a state of inner happiness that you will enjoy reading more about in my new book, coming soon… Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life.

~ Stars = StarFire Teja shining brightly in the world! After a decade of hardships, I am ready to enjoy life! I hereby take the prosperity vow, and I ask the Stars to bless me with wealth to support my ministry! My mission is to help elevate the human species to happier and healthier vibrations! I work for the Forces of Goodness!

So, dear reader, what are you reaching for today?

Put A Sun On It.

Hello dear readers… Greetings from Indiana, where the wind is blowing and clouds are gathering, as the rains from Tropical Storm Barry make their way up here. I am grateful for the cheerful birdsong and for my colorful room, as I write and sip my strong black coffee.

This morning while eating some soaked oats (watch for a recipe post soon), I was scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed, and I noticed that there was a balance between good happy news and bad sad news, which made me think of the happy-ing up practice I already had in mind for this post… This practice brings a little humor and helps shift your perspective with regards to good and bad times.

Years ago there was an episode in the TV series “Portlandia” (that I never watched but heard about) in which an interior decorator’s solution was to “Put a bird on it.” That expression became a popular catchphrase, and when I heard it, somehow it tickled me deeply, so lately I’ve been playing around with the idea… That is how I came up with today’s practice: “Put a Sun on it.”

Having a bad day? Put a Sun on it.

In the Adhyatma Ramayana (translated by Swami Tapasyananda), Rama’s brother Lakshmana tells Guha, “In the midst of happiness, misery can occur, and in the midst of misery, happiness too can occur.”

So, beyond the humor of “Putting a Sun on it,” in this practice there is also a shift in your perspective. In times of misery, it is all too easy to spot the misery, but can you find the happiness in the midst of the misery?

The next time you feel less than happy, try this practice… Think to yourself, “Put a Sun on it.” Next, ask yourself, “What is right in this situation? What happy thing is happening? What small joy can I find in this moment?”

I hope this practice helps you to happy up… And if you are already feeling happy, that’s awesome… Put a Sun on it, and perhaps you will feel even happier! 🙂
