“That burn inside you, that anger thinking of what the raiders are going to do… the books in the Jedi library say ignore that. Only act when you can maintain balance. Even if people get hurt.”
~ Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, speaking to Rey, in Star Wars: The Last Jedi Junior Novel by Michael Kogge.
During the strangest time of our lives, it is super important that we live by the highest principles, such as the one above: Only act when you can maintain balance.
When tensions are high and people are behaving badly, let’s all remember to pause and breathe, and to transform anger into compassion before taking any actions.
The Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh wrote in his book Peace Is Every Step: “Do not spread news that you do not know to be certain. Do not criticize or condemn things that you are not sure of.”
In other words, only speak what you know is true.
With all the streams of actual news, fake news, conspiracy theories, and endless speculations swirling through our devices, let’s all remember to thoughtfully digest information before speaking any words.
*Only act when you can maintain balance.*
*Only speak what you know is true.*
Let’s all resolve to live by these principles during the pandemic… and beyond.
May the Forces of Goodness be with us all.
With good intentions for high vibe living,
