Monday Morning Musings on Protection

Do you ever pray for protection, for yourself or for your loved ones? If so, how do you say those prayers, and how do you imagine they are answered?

My first musing this morning is about praying for protection, and what that really means. For example, God’s protection does not always mean protection from harm, because just look at all the terrible things that happen to people!

When we pray to God, or Spirit, or the Universe, or a Force in Nature (or however else you might conceptualize Something Greater beyond yourself), if we pray for protection only from harm, then we may find ourselves disappointed (or even devastated) when some harm comes our way. So we have to go deeper, to ask for what we might truly need in any given situation…

A while back I was feeling afraid when I was home alone one night, and I was praying for protection, and that is when I realized that deeper than asking for protection from harm is asking for protection from fear

My next musing is about what happens when we ask for protection from fear… When we are protected from fear, then even if the worst thing we imagine happens, we will be able to stay in the highest love vibration, trusting the unfolding of Life.

So if the worst thing happens, we may die, or we may survive and heal, or we may survive but be shattered and unable to heal the wound. Regardless of the outcome, if the worst thing happens, the best thing we can do is to accept it and to trust that it was meant to be as part of the unfolding of Life.

My last musing is about applying this concept to our prayers for others… Typically, when we ask for the protection of our loved ones we do so because we feel afraid of something bad happening to them. However, our worries, anxieties, and fears do not help the other people, and may even cause them harm, so again, when we pray for their protection, the deeper prayer is really about protecting them from both our fears and their own fears.

Perhaps when I pray for the protection of my two sons what actually happens is an energetic force arises from the depths of my being and shoots out like a missile into their energy fields and protects them from any potential ill effects that might be created from their Mom’s fears and worries!

So the deeper prayer would be for me to ask for them and me to be protected from all fears… and for us all to trust in the unfolding of Life.

Dear reader, can you relate to these musings?

Who (or What) Is Your Light Saber?

Dear readers,

This afternoon on my walk something triggered fear in me, and I began crying, and then I said out loud, “How can I face this fear, I don’t have a light saber!” (Yes, I have Star Wars on the brain right now!)

As soon as I said that, it came to me that God is my light saber!

In my Hindu-influenced conception of God, I spontaneously saw this vision of myself as the Pure Shiva Consciousness and Shiva’s light saber is Rama, the Force of All Light! So when I am in the Pure Shiva Witness Consciousness, watching everything (including the fears), then the Pure Light of Rama – the light saber – shines forth and conquers anything that needs to be conquered, like fears, anxieties, griefs, traumas, desires, attachments, and expectations.

So! The way for me to face my fears is to relax into the Pure Consciousness and watch the fears, and allow them to be transformed by the light saber!

Dear reader, who (or what) is your light saber?

With love and light sabers,

Reaching for Orange, Decorated

Dear readers,

Recently I decided that it was time for me to decorate and write in my copy of my new book, Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life, so I spent several mornings working through the book like that, and it was such fun! In this post I will share a few things that I wrote in response to the questions and exercises in the book…

In the section about practicing death meditations, here are my answers to the first two questions ~

~ How do you want to die? ~ Consciously and peacefully.

~ What does a good death look like to you? ~ I’m awake, aware, conscious. I’m listening to chanting music, with chants to Shiva and Rama (aspects of God in Hinduism). I’m feeling peaceful about letting go into Whatever Is Next.

In the visualization with guided imagery to meet your mystic, I especially loved imagining the bright light inside the vibrant flower in my heart… “this light is the size of a candle flame… and it is glowing like a billion golden suns… this golden flame is shining so bright that the flower petals are glowing… and this light is radiating out from the center of your flower… out through your heart… and into your whole body… warm golden light moving into all of your 37.2 trillion cells… and feeling how that flame is your inner mystic… your deepest self… your highest mind… the Divine within you…”

Here are my answers to the questions after that visualization ~

~ How do you experience your inner mystic? ~ Do you catch glimpses of your mystic during your daily life? ~ My inner mystic sees and feels things deeply — and feels very connected to everything: to trees, rocks, birds, and creatures on Earth, and to unseen forces out in the stars and planets. So in my daily life there are lots of glimpses through the vehicles of depth and connectivity.

As you can see in the photo with this post, I also enjoyed decorating my copy of the book. I placed jewel stickers all over the cover, and pasted lots of images throughout the pages. Many of the images I selected were of the orange and red rocks of Arizona and Utah, because those holy rocks are my happy places… Hiking barefoot on the warm rocks is such a high vibration joy for me!

So what arose for you when reading this post? Have you thought about what a good death looks like to you? Do you experience your inner mystic?

I hope you enjoyed reading this post…

May you feel happy! 🙂

With great love,
Teja

Get Your Mystic On!

A merry mirth-filled mystic lives inside your heart.

Did you know that a merry mirth-filled mystic lives inside your heart? A mystic is one who directly experiences the Divine. Depending on your religion or other cosmic belief system, you might think of your inner mystic in various ways, such as the Holy Spirit, God, Nature, or the Universe. And, depending on how you process information, you might experience your mystic through any or all of the following ways: visual images, sounds, feelings, or thoughts.

Many people assume that they should “see” guided imagery in their minds, when actually that is only one way to experience a visualization. For example, when I read or hear the following guided imagery, I do not see a visual picture in my mind, but rather I experience the images as feelings. This guided imagery is based on the wisdom of the ancient mystics of India, and it may help you to see or hear or feel your inner mystic.

Guided Imagery to Meet Your Mystic

As you are reading these words, beginning to settle in… to your inner world… and bringing your awareness to your body… just noticing any sensations in your body… and allowing your shoulders to settle down… and allowing relaxation to flow down through your whole body… and now bringing your attention to your heart center… and placing a hand on your heart… breathing love into your heart… imagining that inside your heart is a beautiful flower… a vibrant flower… inhaling the fragrance of this flower…

… and imagining that inside this flower is a bright light… this light is the size of a candle flame… and it is glowing like a billion golden suns… this golden flame is shining so bright that the flower petals are glowing… and that light is radiating out from the center of your flower… out through your heart… and into your whole body… that warm golden light is moving into all of your 37.2 trillion cells…

… focusing on that golden flame in the flower inside your heart… and feeling how that flame is your inner mystic… it is your deepest self… your highest mind… your connection with the Divine… and feeling yourself opening to the love of God (the Holy Spirit, Nature, the Universe)… receiving love from every direction… and sending love out in all directions… and feeling gratitude for this merry, mirth-filled mystic inside your heart… and knowing that you can return to connect with this flame in your heart anytime, anywhere… and returning to the outer world, feeling refreshed and energized…

How did it feel to read that? Please share your experience in the comments below.

In addition to simple visualizations like this, you can meet your inner mystic through regular spiritual practices, such as the ones described in the Radiance Rising section at the beginning of my new book, The Tejaswini Ramayana: The Way of Rama in the Shakahara StarFire Universes. This book is a new version of a very ancient story from India, called the Ramayana. Millions of people love this magical tale, and many read it regularly as a way to meet their inner mystic. The Healing Grace of Forgiveness

Last weekend I found out that a guy from my past had died the previous week. I had not spoken with him for three years, during which time I had been holding on to some judgements and disappointments regarding him, but about five months ago I had begun to feel compassion and forgiveness for him in my heart. When I shared that with a dear friend, she replied, “Forgiveness is key to good health.”

My experiences with forgiveness have been similar to my experiences with grief. Both have stages and both come in waves. We can’t really force either one to complete before they are ready to do so, but we can allow them to flow through with grace.

After reading my friend’s words on forgiveness, while lying on the Amethyst Crystal Biomat, a huge wave of forgiveness flowed through me and I spoke these words aloud:

“I forgive everyone. I forgive all of my family and friends for the times I’ve been hurt by them, and I release all of my expectations and attachments which caused me to feel those hurts. I forgive all of my past lovers for the times I was hurt by them, and I release all of my expectations, attachments, and projections which caused me to feel those hurts. I am now married to God and the Spiritual Life and I find my happiness inside, with God. I release and forgive everyone. And, I forgive myself for causing myself pain through expectations and attachments. Now I am enjoying the Happiness and the Radiance of the Spiritual Life.”

I recognize that I am not a perfect being, and that there will likely be more waves of forgiveness work to do, and yet, in this moment, I am resting in the healing grace of Forgiveness. May you also be blessed to experience the healing grace of Forgiveness.

May All Beings Know Deep Peace.
