Love Thy Neighbor

Do you ever feel bothered by your neighbors? If so, perhaps you will be able to relate to my story here…

My intention is to send loving good vibes to my neighbors, even when – no, especially when – they do insensitive things that affect me negatively. However, when their carcinogenic cigarette smoke, toxic lighter fluid fumes, heart-breaking smells of dead animal flesh cooking, and offensive sounds of foul language all waft on the nice breeze across the property line and in through my open window, my best intentions are seriously challenged.

As I close the window, I feel irritation and anger that once again I cannot get fresh air and hear the lovely birdsong. I know that the negative energies arising in me are not healthy for me, and I do believe that energies radiate out to others. But, it is one thing to understand the energetic principles involved, and a whole other thing to be able to practice loving kindness in the moment of feeling triggered.

If you also feel challenged by your neighbors, here are a few practices that can help you to find equanimity, love, and compassion…

At the moment you first feel triggered, pause and witness your emotions with loving attention. Breathe, and cultivate compassion for yourself first. Next, remind yourself that the other person is doing the best they can with the light that they have to see by. They probably are not even aware that their behavior is bothering you. In fact, they might even feel bad if they knew that they were causing you grief.

Try to let go of any judgments you may be feeling towards them. And finally, send them love, compassion, peace, and healing energies. Notice how much better you feel after doing that. Kindness and compassion transform you, and they feel so much better than irritation and anger.

Visioning for July 2019

Well, how was the month of June for you? Were there any significant themes or breakthroughs? Do you have a sense of what you would like to do and feel and experience in July? Is there anything you would like to change or update?

If you have been following this blog, then you already know that I recently began a practice of reviewing my journal and calendar at the end of each month, and then visioning some keywords for the new month. My primary keyword for June was Renewal, and I think I accomplished that goal. I do feel renewed and ready for a new good chapter ahead. Yes! The positivity bells are ringing! Can you hear them?

A couple of nights ago I saw a very bright star shining in the sky, and I spontaneously made a 3-part wish, and that wish has evolved into my keywords for July: to be Calm, Helpful, and Happy…

Calm ~ One of my dearest spiritual teachers, David La Chapelle (who left the earthly realm in July 2009), frequently assigned practices to help calm me down, and when he met my Mom he told her, “Your daughter is a live wire.” One of the consistent threads throughout my entire life has been an abundance of excitement energies, and since I have a highly sensitive nervous system, I tend to get over-stimulated easily, which often makes it challenging to get peaceful sleep. July is a high energy, fiery month where I live, so my intention is to focus more on calming down my system.

Helpful ~ It is my deepest prayer that these blog articles will be helpful to people… And I will continue being helpful through visiting hospice patients… And soon I will be publishing my new book, which I hope will be helpful to many people! (Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life)

Happy ~ In July this happy keyword for me is about attracting money. They say, “Money can’t buy happiness” which is true… But money can buy soap, toothpaste, and chapstick! This month my intention is to continue feeling the happy gratitude vibration for all that I have, AND to open to receiving more happy green energies (money)… so that I can buy some essentials, and so that I can launch the new book! As you reflect on your own month of June ending, and your month of July beginning, what arises for you? Do you notice any interesting thoughts, feelings, or sensations? What brings you satisfaction? What do you most deeply want? What can you do this month to work towards your goals? What can you do right now, today, to relieve any angst or discomfort?

Simply reflecting on such questions can really help you to shift into a higher, more open state of mind and heart.

Shifting Focus and Starting Fresh

I love a fresh new month, don’t you?!

Today I awoke to the sound of birds singing in the fresh morning air, with a bright blue sky and sunshine! I felt so much delight as I turned the calendar to June! Holy Coconut Shells and Holy Cow Bells, I am feeling very optimistic about this new month…

Yesterday I really enjoyed reviewing the month of May in my journal and calendar. It was a very fruitful practice in which I gained clarity about my goals and keywords for the month of June. The primary keyword for me this month is Renewal, and there are four points to my renewal focus:

1. Shifting Focus ~ In June I will shift my focus to primarily working on the next book, Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life… Thus, I will only be blogging occasionally. To learn more about my next book, please read “Double Coffee Days Ahead.”

2. Starting Fresh ~ This month I intend to rise up to a new level of letting go of past hurts and starting fresh in my relationships.

3. Reaching for Orange ~ For more than fifteen years I have been doing daily spiritual practices to reach the Happy Orange place inside. In my new book you will learn much more about reaching your Happy Orange place inside! ~ This month I intend to deepen my connection with the Divine through doing even more daily practices than usual.

4. Happy-ing Up ~ I choose to be happy, no matter what physical or emotional pains may be passing through my system. This month I really intend to keep that choice front and center as much as possible!

Gratitude for Good Things… Reaching for Orange

What concerns are you facing now?

Currently I am struggling with daily body aches, which are quite possibly caused by a relapse of Fibromyalgia. (More on that topic in a future article.)

Today I am focusing on gratitude for the main thing that is very good in my life right now, which is writing the next book… Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life.

I am totally loving being the channel for this book. It is coming through me, for sure. I just show up and let it flow. It is so fun writing it, and I think many people are going to really enjoy it.

Become the Master of Your Emotions by Focusing on Witness Consciousness

Some people are afraid of their emotions. Are you afraid of your emotions?

When people are afraid of their emotions, it is typically because they fear that the feelings will be too big for them to handle. They fear that the emotions will overwhelm them.

Focusing on Witness Consciousness can help you to become the master of your emotions. If a feeling arises that feels scary, say to yourself, “I am the Witness who is watching this emotion pass through my system.” You are not the emotion, but rather, the emotion is an energy that is passing through you.
