3 Tips for the Lonely

Do you ever feel totally alone in this world, like no one understands and appreciates you? When you feel lonely, what do you do?

Typically, when people feel lonely they reach outside of themselves for comfort, through food and drinks, television, social media, and so on. Those external pleasures can be soothing temporarily, but a more lasting comfort can be achieved through internal practices.

The next time you feel utterly alone in this world, try these 3 tips for reaching inside your own being ~

~ Cultivating self-love with the mirror. Gaze into your own eyes in the mirror, and say out loud, “I love you (your name)” several times in a row, and then say, “I understand you (your name), and I appreciate you (your name).”

~ Focusing on your strengths. Take out pen and paper and write down everything you love about yourself. If you cannot think of at least 5 things, then write some intentions for new qualities you would like to call into your being. For example, if you do not feel like you are a very kind person, but you would like to be a kinder person, then set an intention to call the vibration of loving kindness into yourself. Place little pieces of paper with the written words “loving kindness” around your home and car.

~ Doing something that you really truly love doing. Make sure this is something you really want to do, and not something that you feel you should do. This could be turning on your favorite music and singing and dancing, or going outside barefoot to hug a tree, or making a cup of spicy tea to sip while reading an inspiring book… While doing this thing that you really love, tune in deeply to how you feel inside on every level. Focus on loving yourself totally, in every way.

Dalai Lama Calls for Tackling Difficult Emotions

In his birthday message last week His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, “Much of the turmoil we witness across the world occurs because people are overwhelmed by disturbing emotions that can be difficult to tackle. I believe that the rich understanding of the workings of the mind and emotions that we find in ancient Indian traditions remains relevant today. There would be great value in examining and applying this as a basic human discipline, and not from a religious point of view. Just as we teach physical hygiene to stay physically fit, we need to cultivate emotional hygiene, learning to tackle our destructive emotions, so as to better achieve peace of mind.”

The Dalai Lama also expressed that he would be grateful if we would like to help him in sharing these ideas with others. For me, as a spiritual helper, his words resonated deeply, because I feel like I am already doing the work that he calls for… I am very inspired to help others in tackling their disturbing emotions.

Do you struggle with difficult emotions? If so, I hope my blog posts are helpful to you… And, I am really looking forward to sharing my new book with you, because it is really in alignment with the Dalai Lama’s call for us to tackle those destructive emotions.

Recently I made a list of 23 possible benefits you may gain through reading my new book, Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life… I will share that full list with you soon, but here are a few benefits that are related to the Dalai Lama’s request… When you read Reaching for Orange, you will learn tools to help you ~

The Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine Union is Within

StarFire Teja dedicates this blog to anyone suffering from loneliness, anyone recovering from a broken heart, and anyone longing for a partner. If you are suffering from loneliness and longing, take heart. There is hope for you to heal and to find happiness inside yourself.

All of us, of all sexes, have both feminine and masculine qualities and energies, to varying degrees. Happiness can be found by cultivating the awareness and the understanding that the ultimate union of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine is inside each of us. There are many ways to practice cultivating that understanding.

Each day when I chant (sing) along with the “Prema Chalisa” on the CD “Trust in the Heart” by Krishna Das, when it gets to the end and he sings to Sita~Ram, I place one hand on my heart and the first three fingers of my other hand on my third eye (the ajna chakra, in the center of the forehead, slightly above the eyebrows), and I affirm that both Sita and Rama are in my heart and mind. In the ancient story from India called the Ramayana, Sita is an incarnation of the Divine Feminine and Rama is an incarnation of the Divine Masculine. So while singing to Sita~Ram, I focus on the truth that I am whole and complete inside my own being. It brings me great happiness, and sometimes even bliss, to acknowledge that the Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine Union is within.

You can practice this in your own way, adapting the concept to fit with your religion or other cosmic belief system. Regular spiritual practices can help to re-wire the brain in positive ways. At the beginning of my new book I offer a section called Radiance Rising, which is an extensive list of spiritual practices which will help you to go inside. Once you are there, inside your own being, by whatever method, I pray that you will experience the happiness of the Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine Union within yourself.

To enjoy that list of spiritual practices and to read the magical uplifting story of Sita and Rama, please order my book today:
