3 Tips for the Lonely

Do you ever feel totally alone in this world, like no one understands and appreciates you? When you feel lonely, what do you do?

Typically, when people feel lonely they reach outside of themselves for comfort, through food and drinks, television, social media, and so on. Those external pleasures can be soothing temporarily, but a more lasting comfort can be achieved through internal practices.

The next time you feel utterly alone in this world, try these 3 tips for reaching inside your own being ~

~ Cultivating self-love with the mirror. Gaze into your own eyes in the mirror, and say out loud, “I love you (your name)” several times in a row, and then say, “I understand you (your name), and I appreciate you (your name).”

~ Focusing on your strengths. Take out pen and paper and write down everything you love about yourself. If you cannot think of at least 5 things, then write some intentions for new qualities you would like to call into your being. For example, if you do not feel like you are a very kind person, but you would like to be a kinder person, then set an intention to call the vibration of loving kindness into yourself. Place little pieces of paper with the written words “loving kindness” around your home and car.

~ Doing something that you really truly love doing. Make sure this is something you really want to do, and not something that you feel you should do. This could be turning on your favorite music and singing and dancing, or going outside barefoot to hug a tree, or making a cup of spicy tea to sip while reading an inspiring book… While doing this thing that you really love, tune in deeply to how you feel inside on every level. Focus on loving yourself totally, in every way.

StarFire Teja’s Three Tips For the Lonely at Valentine’s Day

Approaching Valentine’s Day can be a difficult time for the lonely and broken-hearted. I have been there, so I understand how excruciating that pain can be. If you feel some sadness now, I hope you will happy up through reading the tips in this blog. If you already feel happy now, please forward this blog to someone who feels sad.

1. Try to keep a sense of humor. Laughter is very healing and it uplifts the spirits, so look for funny videos, books, and cartoons to help lighten your mood. To help get your laughter started, here is a hilarious video from nine years ago. In this video my younger son was ten years old, my hair was long, and I still thought that I wanted a romantic partner to make me happy. Thankfully I no longer cry myself to sleep!

If you’ve already read these, try reading them again because re-reading information helps it to sink in on deeper levels. Whether or not you have read these articles already, try reading them out loud because that also helps the material to go deeper into your mind.

3. Remember that Valentine’s Day is about all kinds of love, not just romantic love. When I was growing up, each year my Grandma Becker sent hand-made Valentines to all of us grandkids. She mailed them to us with a dollar or two tucked in the cards, and it was always such a thrill to receive them. So remember that you can also share the Valentine’s Love with friends and family. Also practice cultivating self-love, and then extend that love out to all the beings in all the realms. And then, if you find yourself feeling that you love Everyone and Everything, that’s when you are in the Highest Love Vibrations.
