Snake Medicine: Shedding Old Skins

Have you ever held a snake?

The photo* with this post is from five years ago when I had the opportunity to hold a boa constrictor. Well, it slithered around my body, so I did not feel like I held it, but rather, it felt like the snake was holding me!

I had never even touched a snake before, so I had no idea what to expect, and I was very surprised by my experience. When the snake was first placed on me, my whole body immediately relaxed and I fell into a deep state of consciousness that I can only describe as pure bliss. I don’t think I’ve ever felt that relaxed. All thoughts stopped and I just kept repeating the mantra “Om Namah Shivaya.”

“Om Namah Shivaya” literally means “I bow to Shiva, who is Pure Consciousness. I bow to my own deepest self, which is Pure Consciousness.” Shiva is the destroyer aspect of God in the Hindu trinity, and he wears venomous serpents as ornaments to symbolize that he is the conqueror of death. Essentially that means that his consciousness is so pure that he has no fears, like of death by cobra, for example. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I wear a gold snake ring (on my wedding ring finger) to symbolize that I am married to Shiva. Well, I held my ring up to show the snake, and that snake actually licked my ring!

My experience with that snake felt like such a blessing. Feeling that physical surrender in my body taught me how to access a deeper peace on all levels.

Snake medicine also brings peace because it shows us humans how to shed our old skins. Do you have some layers that you need to shed? Do you have any mental, emotional, or spiritual energies that are no longer serving your highest good?

Here is a simple practice for transmuting any old energies and shedding any old skins: Sit quietly and watch your natural breathing. Visualize a snake slithering around your body, and imagine that the snake is absorbing anything you would like to shed now, such as fears, disappointments, and so on. Next see the snake going away from you into a green field, and watch the snake shedding that old skin which contains all that you wish to shed… See the snake shedding your old skins! Conclude with three breaths to transmute the old energies. Breathing in peace, breathing out the old… Breathing in peace, breathing out the old… Breathing in peace, breathing out the old…

How do you feel now?

StarFire Teja’s StarFire Friday Blessing: May You Commit to Living Your Ideals

May you align with your beliefs and visions.

May you be a resolute person.

May your weekend be blessed with even the smallest ways of contributing something of value.

May you commit to living your ideals.

In a recent post (“Half-Way Through 2019: Goals Review Time!”) I shared that for many years on my spiritual journey I straddled two worlds… In one world I wanted to be a nun, and in the other world I wanted to find prince charming. In 2011 I ordered a gold snake ring (with amethyst crystal eyes) and placed it on my wedding ring finger to signify that I was married to Lord Shiva (an aspect of God in the Hindu trinity)… And I wore that ring for five years, during which time I continued dating earthly guys! Finally one of my sons convinced me to take off the ring and surrender to my desire for a partner…

Fast-forward to 2018, when I decided to renounce that desire and go fully for nunhood… One year ago today I put that snake ring back on my wedding ring finger, and for this whole year I have remained resolute in my decision to live in one world rather than straddling two worlds… And it has been hard work to get to where I am now, but it has been worth it. Lately I am feeling happier and happier (knock on wood!), and I am truly enjoying the happiness of the Spiritual Life.

Do you have any inner conflicts about your desires and visions? What are your ideals? What can you do today to live your ideals more fully?

May you feel happier and happier,
every day in every way!

Which Tribe Do You Belong To?

One of my sons made this ET image* of me years ago, and at that time I’m sure I just thought it was pretty funny. Now I look at the image and think, “not a bad looking alien!”

Have you ever seen a UFO or an extra-terrestrial being? As I shared in my previous post, “What Is Going On Here?,” I have not had contact with any ETs myself, but one night I did see a vehicle above some trees that was triangular shaped and had a grid of multi-colored lights across the top. I only saw the craft briefly because I was the passenger in a moving car, but I’ll never forget it.

As for contact with beings from outer space, I am quite open to it, and I have a dear friend who told me that “they” are “downloading” me. Well, I’m not sure about that, but as I said, I’m open to it.

I imagine that the Blue Tribes consist of very high vibration love beings, like Shiva or Vishnu or Rama (aspects of Divinity in the Hindu tradition), who all just happen to be blue! Call me a dreamer, but I would much rather belong to a race of Blue Light Beings than to the human race.

Lately I just really cannot relate to what is happening on this sacred planet Earth. For example, I cannot relate to all the divisions of states and countries. In reality, we are all interconnected in one web of energy, and that energy is Love! So all these divisions do not make any sense to me at all. For me it goes much further than “#notmypresident” (although that is true)… For me, so much of what the humans are doing is absurd and painful to watch.

Daily spiritual practices are more important to me now than ever before. They help to keep me connected to what I know is the real reality. So I feel really passionate about sharing do-able spiritual practices with others, which is why I’m writing my next book, Reaching for Orange: Practices, Visualizations, & Blessings to Help You Happy Up Your Life.

I belong to the StarFire Blue Tribes of the highest love vibrations.

Applying The Tejaswini Ramayana in Your Daily Life

Recently my Mom, who is Catholic, was reading my version of the Ramayana, and one morning she said that she was struggling with some negativities, and then she thought, “I need Shiva to remind me that I’m a positive person!” She jokingly told me that the alarms should have been sounding!

In my version of the Ramayana, Lord Shiva makes a Plan for helping to keep the Avatars elevated. You see, even Divine Incarnations cannot always remember their divinity because they are in human bodies which are susceptible to great forgetfulness. Most of us regularly experience this spiritual amnesia, which is why we need frequent reminders of our divine nature. That is why I do daily spiritual practices and that is also why I work to inspire others to do spiritual practices. When we remember who we truly are, we feel happier and more positive about life.

The joke about the alarms sounding refers to a strategy that Shiva devises in my version, The Tejaswini Ramayana: The Way of Rama in the Shakahara StarFire Universes, to help keep the divine monkeys elevated. When you read this ancient tale, embellished with my touches of fantastical science fiction elements, you will see many ways that it applies to your daily life.

I very much look forward to hearing from you about how this book applies to your life!

Only Light Can Drive Out Darkness

Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” He also said, “If you are seeking the highest good, I think you can find it through love.”

I express those same ideas in my new book:
The Tejaswini Ramayana: The Way of Rama in the Shakahara StarFire Universes.
The Ramayana is a very old story from India in which the Light ultimately wins over the darkness. My version is a fusion of ancient sacred scripture with elevated futuristic vision, in which the highest good is found through love. The Super Hero Avatars elevate wounded beings rather than killing wicked beings.

Jesus also taught his followers to love their enemies. Worldwide, the saints ever work for Goodness and they see the light shining even in the worst of sinners. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, only light can drive out darkness. So this means that we each have to cultivate the light within ourselves.

One of my daily mantras that helps me to raise my vibration into light and love is “Om Namah Shivaya” which means I bow to Shiva, who is Pure Consciousness and Bliss. I bow to my innermost Self, which is Pure Consciousness and Bliss. When spoken as a greeting it means essentially “Namaste,” I bow to the Divine Consciousness in you, that is also in me. In this video I am singing this mantra on the Holy Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona:

Sending Shiva’s Love and Light to All Beings!
Om Namah Shivaya.
