“Each person is doing the best that they can with the light that they have to see by.”
I can’t remember now if I saw that quote someplace, or if I made it up, but I’ve been saying it to myself for years, and I thought you might also like to say it to yourself. It is helpful to remember when someone is behaving badly.
The light that each person has to see by depends largely on how wounded they are. People who have not healed their wounds are often fumbling in darkness, creating all kinds of coping and defense mechanisms, so their “best” isn’t always so great.
Thinking “Each person is doing the best that they can with the light that they have to see by” will help you to cultivate the compassion vibration, so it will help you to send the person loving energies instead of negative reactions. This also helps you to keep your own vibrations higher in the face of negativity.
How much light do you have to see by? Have you healed your wounds? Do you love yourself? Do you have compassion for yourself? Another way to use the above quote is to extend it to yourself. Whenever you feel badly about something you said or did, try saying to yourself, “I was doing the best I could with the light that I had to see by” and then set an intention to increase the light that you have to see by.
One way to increase your light is to visualize a bright star shining into your mind. Imagine the radiant light of that star beaming into every cell in your brain, and then spreading down through all of the 37.2 trillion cells in your body. Can you feel the love of that light?
May you have a happy week!
May All Beings Know Deep Love.
